Over 20 species of waterfowl, seven species of big game and abundant small game provide excellent hunting across South Dakota. There is nearly 3,000 acres of public hunting to enjoy a variety of opportunities in Jerauld County. Many areas offer opportunities for combination hunts, weather its waterfowl and upland game, or big game predators. The farmland and pastures of eastern and central South Dakota harbor the popular Ringneck Pheasant, Sharptail Grouse, Prairie Chicken and Hungarian Partridge.
